Blogline’s Trifecta

by Juned on October 3rd, 2007

To most people a Trifecta is a betting term involving horses; three races; and a betting spread. But in this instance and in this story we are referring to a slang term that is used to describe a favorable or succesful phenomenon that comes in three. For example, Bloglines has announced that it now supports (i) OpenID, (ii) Bloglines Beta Mobile, (iii) and New Personalization Preferences.

OpenID - Bloglines Beta and Bloglines Classic will both support OpenID. Going forward we’ll support consuming OpenID, OpenID 2.0 and are investigating the use of other Open Standards such as oAuth and APML.

Mobile - Bloglines Beta now has a new version of Bloglines Mobile with additional features such as the “Start Page”, “Pin” and improved browser support.

New Personalization Preferences - Bloglines Beta has added several new personalization features as well as implementing support for the current feed reading personalization features.

The mobile applications and personalization features are self-explanatory. But what is OpenID?

OpenID is a way for individuals to create one on-line identity and be able to use it anywhere OpenID is supported. Check their website to learn more about OpenID.
