Feedburner RSS ads!
Some inside info on FeedBurner. It has come to my attention that FB will open up their RSS ad network, very soon. FeedBurner’s ad network is now only for publishers with a consistent base of more than 500 subscribers. Among the initial participants were online properties of SmartMoney, IDG publications, PC World, CIO, Computerworld , Corante, Ars Technica and Gawker Media.
When FeedBurner opens up their ad network to any publisher who wants to participate, they will be an instant player on the advertising market and bring RSS ads to the dancefloor! Can’t wait…

[…] Volgens A feed is born moeten we er binnenkort toch echt aan geloven: Feedburner komt volgens de weblog binnenkort met advertentiemogelijkheden voor iedere feed. I hope i’ll be able to read the blogs between the ads using my RSS reader in the near future. Perhaps new readers will be developed soon with a possibility to filter the news and skip the ads.

This could place FeedBurner in a class of its own. They are currently managing over 122,000 publishers’ feeds and they can insert ads. Simply brilliant!

“Simply brilliant”, the blogger says, hoping to earn a fortune.
“Simply horrible”, the reader says, looking for content.

For those interested in content monetization and promotion a new website is born… StepWebz.com helps online publishers promote and monetize their RSS feeds by allowing other sites to syndicate and display their syndicated content. This is a win to win situation since site owners get dynamic content for their site and publishers increase the exposure of their content, drive traffic to their site and generate revenue.
