FeedMarklet: Bookmarklet and Aggregator
Learned about this mashup called Feedmarklet , combination of a bookmarklet and feed aggregator application, from the post of Cesar H Castro at Emily Chang E-Hub entitled well … FeedMarklet. The mashup lets the user bookmark and create an rss feed.
Feedmarklet gives you your own RSS feed instantly, with no sign up required. Adding content to your feed is a snap- just browse the web as you normally would, and when you find something interesting, press the bookmarklet button in your browser bookmark bar to immediately add the page you are on to your feed.[Source]
According to their website the FeedMarklet:
1) Extracts automatically the title and location of the page. Saving the user time from manually keying everything in.
2) And if you select some text before clicking the FeedMarklet Button it will save this as the description of the feed.
3) It also has a button or feature that scans every link in the page you are viewing and adding those that you have selected for your feed.
It seems to be a variant of other mashups of bookmarklet-aggregator . It is not surprising since this is the road to make feed aggregating more simpler. And it makes me think that with all these aggregator applications coming out everything is fluid and probably the application that is the most stable or user friendly or both will be the one on top in the end. Who knows.
