Apparently GMail is now available without an invitation - sort of. If you give Google your cell phone number they will text you with an invitation.
If you don’t want Google to have your number (I’m sure they have your ‘number’ anyway), e-mail me, I’ll send you an invitation and you don’t even have to give me your cell number - or any other number for that matter!
