Hacks for Google Reader and more
Please note: I came across this post written by Kim Roach. The post was written ten months ago. And believe it or not found it interesting and still useful. Granted some of the information may be outdated the general ideas are still sound My apologies for not mentioning it and thanks for the advise..
Kim Roach of LifeHack posted 10 Smart Hacks for Google Reader. Interesting set of advise on how to manage the information overload caused by RSS feeds or to rephrase to how make best use of Google Reader.
What are some of the tips?

But one of the more interesting tips given was the Smart Google Subscribe Button. It is a modified version of Jasper De Vries Greasemonkey Script, which allows two click subscription and warns if one is already subscribed to the feed. Mihai Parparita modified the script here so that:
My version of the script adds an overlayed check icon when you’re subscribed to at least one of the feeds that the site advertises via auto-discovery. This was made easy by a URL that Reader exports: http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/subscribed?s=feed/
. It returns “true” or “false” depending on whether the current user (as determined by the Google Account cookie) is subscribed to the given feed.

Caveats or Warning before using Smart Google Reader Subscribe Button:
…The check is not foolproof - sites that use FeedBurner, that have changed their feed URLs since you’ve subscribed, or that available under different URLs (e.g. with or without www) may not be detected correctly. Additionally, by its very nature, the script reports to Google Reader’s servers all the feed URLs that it encounters.[Source]

JuneD, this post you’re linking to is 10 mionths old and some of the information in it is outdated (like complaining that Google Reader doesn’t have a search function).
