Illumio for taming information overload and socializing
I have been trying out Illumio for the past few weeks and this seems to be a quite useful tool in trimming the information fat from RSS and Web feeds. The application and services needs an app to be downloaded and one needs to be registered to the service.
The service tailors the news harvested based on the preference of the user and reading behavior. This seems to be trend today in terms of taming the Information Overload. So what is the what makes Illumio different?
For one it uses a form of social networking or aspect to talk and collaborate with fellow Illumio users. This seems to be good when is involved in a collaborative effort or a project.
The application was developed by Tacit Software:
Tacit Software provides expertise discovery and collaboration products for enterprises and individuals. illumio, the company’s flagship product, alerts you to news and discussions that match your interests. Its a great tool for busy individuals as well as a unique enterprise solution for knowledge discovery and collaboration. Tacit is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA and has been in business since 1997. The application and service looks impressive for a desktop rss reader and social network. Check out the latest news about Illumio from the blog, The illumio Team Blog.
