Imooty for all things European

by Juned on October 26th, 2007

In terms of RSS or webdfeed aggregators it pays to be more specific and focused as in being too general. Well, that is my opinion anyway and this is because it limits the information glut one receves. In other words its a nicer and tighter flow of information. An example of this would be the aggregator of European news Imooty, which describes itself as The first navigator European News.

Jean Yung’s interview - New RSS aggregator maps the European news landscape - with the people behind Imooty - Kristoffer J. Lassen and Blaise Bourgeois - at A USC Annenberg Online Journalism Review provides very important details about Imooty.

  • Imooty is phonetically invented term
  • Imooty has around 400 newspapers and 600-700 blogs
  • Imooty services the demand for a common European media universe
  • Imooty uses publicly available RSS headlines.
  • Imooty is at present developing a premium service that has access to the archives of every significant news organization in Europe.
  • ….

The important features of Imooty is that:

  • By clicking on the map you can look at a country’s newspapers and blogs both in English and the local language.
  • You can also navigate by topic across all sources.
  • One can customize your Imooty experience with My Imooty
  • It has Babelfish:It can translate the news/posts into English.
  • This seems to be useful tool for covering European News.
