Internet TV and RSS - Cherry Picking
Research and Market has began to offer the third part of its report that bears the following title: Internet Television (Part 3) Integrating Web 2.0 Concepts. The report discusses how professionally-produced television content can be distributed on the Internet and analyzes how Web 2.0 technology like as RSS, bookmarking, content aggeration and developer programs will be part of internet television services sometime soon.
You have to purchase the report to read the whole content. But for those familiar with RSS and television shows will probably have an inkling as to how Internet TV will use RSS and web feeds to the fullest.
And an interesting phrase used in the report is Cherry Picking. If you look up the phrase Cherry Picking the phrase refers to the act picking out information, data and knowledge that favors only your belief or hypothesis. The term itself has well somewhat less than positive implication.
The origin of the phrase comes from the act of cherry picking itself. The original meaning was the choosing of ripe cherries over unripe ones. And in a sense is a right way of describing RSS, mashups, APML and web feed technology.
And again if one were to view TV whether on the web or offline it would be best to Cherry Pick.
