NewsGator gets VC Blogger Nolan

Popular VC blogger, Ex-Teqlo CEO and SAP veteran Jeff Nolan was hired as the new vice president of corporate development of RSS company NewsGator . The position is a newly created one. And Nolan while taking on the tasks of his new position will continue to write at his popular blog VC Ventures.

According to Marketwire, Nolan’s new job can be described as:

Based out of Silicon Valley and reporting to president and CEO J.B. Holston, Nolan will focus on building and managing key strategic relationships and contributing to product and marketing strategy across the company’s line of award-winning Enterprise 2.0 and widget solutions, which are used by more than 100 businesses including USA Today, Procter & Gamble, the Discovery Channel, Biogen Idec, Rohm and Haas, Spencer Stuart and the New York Times Regional Media Group. Nolan himself in his blog outlined his term objectives as :

1. Establishing presence in the Valley. What this means is simply elevating the awareness of the company locally and ensuring that entrepreneurs, investors, and other influencers know that this company is a lot broader than RSS client apps.

2. Strategic partnership management is clearly something I have on my plate. There are number of existing relationships that require stewardship, but also new opportunities that need to be realized.

3. Contribute to product and solution marketing where appropriate to help move from being RSS to Enterprise 2.0.
