Sure! Looking at the RSS logo I associate it with waves transmitted by a ‘point source’. For me it suggests information is distributed from this site.
No comparable association for at all with the OPML logo. Just concentric circles.

We just launched a downloadable and editable package of the blue icon proposed by Chris Pirillo. We were part of the team that created the icon while working on a project for lockergnome.
