Podcasts at Open Culture

by Cathy on January 24th, 2007

I’m really liking Open Culture.  Lots of interesting stuff there.  But yesterday they compiled a list of cool podcasts that aren’t available through their RSS feed.  Here’s what they say:

The only downside to using a feed reader (Bloglines, Google Reader, MyYahoo, etc.) to access Open Culture is that you won’t be able to see our podcast directories which reside in our left nav bar. To assist you, we have pasted links below that will give you direct access to the podcast collections. Bookmark & enjoy.

Check out the podcasts and while you are there, browse around.  You might like it too.

I really like this site. I get their feed but had no clue about the podcasts. The need a Feedburner podcast feed!

How do you subscribe to these without iTunes? It looks like many of the feeds are only available through iTunes? Apple will not release iTunes for Linux, which is my platform. Does that mean no go for me?

I think it’s no go for everyone. That seems to be why they put the list on their site. There is no subscription available to their podcasts - only to the blog.

The individual podcasts have ITunes and Feed so you don’t have to have ITunes. If you get the feed address, which you do by clicking on the link and copying the address that appears in the browser address bar, then you can copy it into ‘Add A Feed’ in your feedreader, you should be able to get it.
