Reliable videos from ScienceHack

by Juned on December 5th, 2007

There are many ways to deal with information overload. One and probably the most popular method is filtering the feed. Selecting the posts that one really needs. In other words sieving information. Another less popular but equally effective of reducing information overload is by referring or screening each article/post as they come in. This method supposedly screens out the bad and the irrelevant. Scrutiny or reviewing has been used the time honored way of testing ideas and scientific discoveries. Science Hack claims to be doing this for scientific videos.

But what is ScienceHack?

ScienceHack is a video search engine where each entry in the database is first screened and approved by a scientist. This way any each entry is verified as scientifically accurate.

ScienceHack has further categorized each entry into subject areas from new videos to the familiar topics in science like Physics and Chemistry. It seems this is done to make the swim between these pool of information much easier.

It seems to be a useful search engine/database of scientific videos that one can use knowing it has been screened or refereed. I think it would help if the identity or credentials of the scientists screening the materials be mentioned or cited.
