SiteMeter’s survey on RSS
Website tracking and counter tools SiteMeter seems to be taking a long hard look at RSS Feeds. Their last two entries in their blog, Do You RSS and SiteMeter II RSS Measurements Survey , seems to show a rather healthy interest in RSS feeds and this is the reason why:
One of the new RSS data points that we plan to offer our “Premium accounts” is the ability to know which feed readers your subscribers are using to access your content. For example, if someone uses Google Reader as their primary tool for subscribing to your blog stories then SiteMeter would be able to report to you that “X” percentage of your subscribers use Google Reader. The problem is there are hundreds of Feed Readers out there and we cannot realistically create and store every unique Feed Readers we come across.[Source]
