What type of truncated feed would you read?
Technology Evangelist talks about how some blogs or sites are worth reading even if they do not have full feeds or are truncated. As I written before and I still maintain that I like reading the full text articles or pots on my feed reader. No more hassle of going to the website. Although there are times when a summary or even an introduction will be acceptable than the full text.
But what sort of conditions or type of post does it make more sense to use truncated RSS feeds?
or
What type of posts in RSS feeds do you do not mind read truncated?
1) Maybe when you have a post more than 1,000 words? Although I would rather scroll down than click back to the website.
2) A scientific article. In such case an abstract or summary might be helpful in deciding whether to read the post or not. Such abstract might be (i) a simple summary of the post, (ii) a description of the post, (iii)a critical description of the post, and (iv) a complete but concise version of the post.
3) A short story.
4) A friend’s post.
Again, assuming you prefer full text post in RSS feeds, what type of truncated post would you read?
